Cucumber Salad

My mom used to give us cucumber salad in India during the hot summer months.Cucumber is 90 percent water which will keep you hydrated in summer.This preparation hardly takes 5 minutes and needs no cooking.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Serving: 2-3 cups

Ingredients:
Cucumber-1 large finely chopped
Onion-1/4 medium finely chopped
Tomato-1 medium finely chopped
Lemon-1
Black pepper powder-1/4 teaspoon
Sugar-2 pinches
Salt to taste

Procedure:
1.Take a bowl and throw in the chopped onions.

2.Add the chopped cucumber pieces.

3.Add the chopped tomato

4.Sprinkle black pepper powder,salt,sugar and lemon juice.

5.Toss the salad.Chill and serve.

Tips:
Do not keep the salad outside for too long or let it stand too long.The tomato and cucumber start leaving out water due to the salt added and it won’t feel as fresh as a newly made salad.
