Vangi Bath Spice Powder

This is the recipe to make the spice powder for Vangi Bath(eggplant rice powder) also called as vangi bath podi or pudi.

Difficulty Easy

Ingredients:
40 whole dried red chili (break into pieces)
1/3 cup dry grated coconut
1/3 cup chana dal
1/3 cup urad dal
2 teaspoons oil
pinch of asofetida
1 cinnamon stick
3 cloves
1 tablespoon coriander seeds
Procedure:
1.Take all the spices except oil and coconut in a pan and dry roast them until the lentils turn golden brown stirring often to avoid burning.

2.Add coconut and oil and roast for 2 more minutes and turn off the stove and let them cool.

3.Transfer the ingredients to a blender and grind to a fine powder.
Tips:
You can also add a tablespoon of peanuts to this for added taste.
If you don’t like it spicy you can reduce the number of red chili you add to the powder
