Rose Water or Syrup

Rose water can be used as a flavoring agent in foods like baklava, noughat, rice etc or an excellent skin toner. You can make it at home and fresh with these simple steps.
Preparation time:20  minutes

4 cups loosely packed rose petals(washed)
2 cups water

1.Bring the water to boil and add the rose petals and turn down the heat to simmer and let simmer for 5 minutes until the petals lose the color.

2.Drain the petals and collect the water and let cool and store in the refrigerator until required for use.

Use organic roses when using for food, normal roses can be full of pesticides.
For rose syrup add 2 cups sugar in the final water obtained and let simmer to form a thicker but flowy consistency.
Apply on your skin each night before bed or when you come home from sun for refreshing the skin.

    1. Fresh rose petals are available with any florist, just ask for organic ones without pesticides. Dry petals are available in middle eastern stores.
