Almond Halwa

Every Friday our  group of friends meet for a Potluck(all guest prepare and bring one food item each and we have it at one of our places).I experimented with Almond flour and It was a HIT at last night’s party .Make this for all your favorite festivals.

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Serving: 12 pieces

Ingredients:
1 cup milk mawa powder,
1 cup almond flour(from trader joes-you can also use fresh ground almonds),
1 evaporated milk can(12 oz can)-you can also use plain milk,
1 cup of  milk and
1 cup sugar
2-3 teaspoons ghee
cashews, raisins-handful
1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
Procedure:
1.Combine Milk Powder and Almond powder and roast it on low flame until slightly browned.(if using fresh almonds you can just roast the almonds and grind-because it doesn’t have a powder consistency after grinding).
2.In a table spoon ghee roast cashews and raisins and keep aside.

3.In another pan add evaporated milk, milk and sugar and boil until foamy.Add cardamom powder.(I dont like the texture of Cardamom when eating so I use a metal teabag in which I put fresh Cardamom and dipped it in the milk while boiling which takes in the flavor from Cardamom. Before adding the milk powder and almond powder you can just remove the tea bag).
4.After the milk is foamy, Add the roasted cashews and raisins and last teaspoon of ghee, add the powders(milk and almond) and keep stirring until it comes to a dough consistency(chapati dough consistency) and the dough starts leaving the pan.
5.Smear a Plate with a rim with ghee, put the dough on it and spread it evenly.Allow it to cool for 30-45 minutes and cut to pieces and garnish.
Tips:
Do not burn your milk powder or almond powder or milk it will spoil the taste of the entire dish.
