Pachi Pulusu

Pachi Pulusu means raw stew, It started off as a poor man’s stew, when the farmers didn’t have enough money to buy vegetable they used to have this with rice.
Preparation time:20 minutes
Serves:8

Ingredients:
2 teaspoons tamarind paste or small lemon sized Tamarind
2 Red Chilli
3 green chilies minced
1 teaspoon urad dal
1 teaspoon chana dal
1 cup diced onion
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt  as per
1/4 teaspoon methi powder(fenugreek powder)

Preparation:
1.Mix the tamarind paste in water and add the salt and diced onion to it. If using fresh tamarind boil it in about 2 cups of water and squeeze all the juice out.
2.Heat oil in a pan and add the chana dal and urad dal and roast until light brown, add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and red chili and green chili and curry leaves and let splutter. Add methi powder, sugar and turn off the stove. Transfer the mixture to the tamarind juice and serve.
Tips:
Serve with Rice.
